clarification

I hope many of you read the article I posted about the 15 year old michigan girl with Medulloblastoma. As inspiring as the story is, I do think it's necessary to point out she's on a much different protocol then Kevin, Heather, Ethan, and other St. Judes kids with Medullo. Her protocol calls for 15 to 18 months of lower dose chemo with longer intervals of rest in between. I don't think it would be realistic for somebody on St. Jude's 4 month aggressive, high dose chemo, to accomplish what she's done. However, still the same, low dose or high dose, it's amazing and inspirational what she's accomplished. And most of all, her attitude sets a great example. Still the same, I'm proud of Kevin and how he's handled his high dose chemo cycle. He may not be playing baseball, but hopefully in just a few months this will be behind him, and he can move forward with the rest of his life.

Take Care,

Eric

Cub Scout Pack 117

The pack welcomed Kevin back at the monthly meeting which was outdoors at the Proud Lake Recreation State Park and included the award of rank badges to the scouts. Kevin (on left in group pics) earned his Wolf badge (and his Bobcat badge in January) with his den.

The entire pack showed their support by cheering for each other as they received their badges.

As you may have heard, Kevin's Pinewood Derby car did very well at the race in February - cheered on by dad and brother.

Coming home soon

Kevin's radiation is coming to a close. We're all so happy to have you come home. It appears next week will wrap things up and he'll be coming home soon there-after. He's so excited to go back to school.

Kevin, your fish are doing great. We'll make sure to buy a few more for the big aquarium when you get home (I've been holding off until your return).

I'm posting a few pictures taken from last weekend.

Hi Kevin!

Hi Kevin!
We miss you and would like to know when you are home? We sent your Mom some photos from Big Boy. Spiderman and Darth Vader did battle on the way there and then Scotty de-masked them both and out battled them! Next time we may have to bring light sabers. Do you play any games on the computer? My teacher gave me some links. Here is one www.primarygames.com
we have to go to bed now - bye,
Kellen & Gavin

See you soon!

Hey Kevin, Uncle Steve here. Just wanted to stop by and say hello. Grandma (Jan) told me all about the cool museum you all went to over the weekend down there. She said there were real police cars and fire engines, Scotty said his favorite was the life-size grocery store. What was your favorite?

Everyone says hello up here! we miss you and will see you soon!

Hello

Hi Kevin! I hope you are having a good day. We had a lot of fun at Big Boy last Thursday. I met your Grandma. There were a lot of people there...the line was out the door for a long time. Many people are thinking about you and want you to feel better soon. I'm looking forward to receiving your bears, and we will take some pictures for you.
